This stunning steed is one of just 134 Sebring 3700 GTi’s manufactured from 1965 to 1968 so you’ll be breathing rarified air if you’re the lucky one to get your hands on this lot when the hammer goes down.

The 1966 Maserati Sebring 3700 GTi Series II by Vignale is sensationally cool to look at and it is presented in fantastic condition to boot. It is finished in Grigio Albany over a tan leather interior that gives it the sort of old school cool aesthetic that we always tend to gravitate towards here at Coolector HQ. It is powered by its matching-numbers 3.7-litre inline, six-cylinder engine, coupled with a five-speed manual transmission so it’s definitely not going to let you down when you take it out for a spin.

CLASSICALLY COOL VISUALS

Developed for the lucrative American market, the Maserati Sebring was first launched back in 1962 and appropriately named in honour of the works team’s victory in the famous Floridian 12-hour race some five years earlier, courtesy of the mighty 450S of noted drivers Juan Manuel Fangio and Jean Behra. This one was ordered on 31 March 1966 and equipped with the 3.7-litre engine. It left the factory finished in Grigio Albany with a tan leather interior. The car arrived at Martinelli & Sonvico, a Swiss Maserati dealer, on 4 May 1966 and was sold to its first owner, Mr. Siegfrid Sigrist.

For this 1966 Maserati Sebring 3700 GTi Series II by Vignale available from luxury auction house, RM Sotheby’s, the engine, transmission and front suspension were all rebuilt in 2006 and ensure that it is presented in first class order for whoever is the lucky one to get their hands on it at the end of the auction. It participated in the Eifel Rallye Festival in 2009 and 2010 and it is accompanied by a Deuvet Vehicle Passport, FIVA Identity Card, GTÜ-Classic inspection report, Maserati Classiche Historical Information Certificate, and servicing invoices.

Maserati are famed for their quality machines but they have seldom looked as cool as this one heralding from the mid-60s.
