There are few vehicles that epitomise the excesses of the 90s than the Ferrari and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better example of this than this 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione from Auxietre & Schmidt which is being offered for sale in its original, pristine condition and hasn’t had any unsightly additions in the last two decades.
The 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione from Auxietre & Schmidt has a pretty eye-watering price tag of €348k but, for those who can afford it, there are few better examples of a 90s Ferrari on the market than this. It has chassis number 99107 and it’s an extremely rare lot as it is one of just 11 examples that were hand-built by Michelotto – so, needless to say, it’s going to be a popular offering for Ferrari enthusiasts.
Iconic Era of Motoring
The 1990s was an iconic era for the world of motorcars and the 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione from Auxietre & Schmidt could be the poster child for this decade. It has done a mere 3,500 km from new and it is offered in a remarkably good, unaltered condition, which is sure to appeal to the serious Ferrari collectors out there. Whilst the €348k price tag is going to preclude all those except with the deepest pockets, it’s hard not to be left agog by this majestic looking machine.
The Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione was produced in extremely limited numbers, with only 11 built and only four making their way into the United States. Nine of these were never even raced and were sold directly into private collections. The Michelotto tuned 348 GTs were given stock engines with modifications that brought 360 bhp with reconfigured fuel mapping and F40 half-shafts.
All non-essential interior items were taken out in an effort to reduce the overall weight of these Ferraris. The interior was at the same time fitted with an FIA-spec roll cage and the stock pedals were replaced with drilled aluminium pedals. Racing seats and a racing steel completed the interior modifications and this was undoubtedly one of the coolest looking machines to ever hit the racing circuit.
Majestic Example
Auxietre & Schmidt are one of the best in the business when it comes to delivering luxury, classic cars in impeccable condition and this breathtaking 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione is a fine example of this in action. It comes equipped with the original engine and it is one of only 11 cars produced and one of just four examples supplied new to the US market. It was originally shipped to Florida’s largest factory-authorised Ferrari dealer, Shelton Sports Cars, on December 16th 1994 and has done less than 4k miles since.
The car was never raced and it was only used occasionally for track days and parades throughout its whole life. In 2019 the car went through and extensive mechanical service including full engine check with cam belts replacement, full transmission rebuild as well as a brake purge to ensure that it is in the remarkable condition you see before you – which it should be given the €348k price tag.
