Fans of the Fallout franchise are definitely going to fall mighty hard for the Laco RAD-AUX Limited Edition Watch ($2950) with its weathered aesthetic that immediately catches the eye. The Laco Auxiliary Observer, or “RAD-AUX”, was created especially for the U.S. market and, as you can plainly see, takes its design inspiration from the Fallout gaming series.
The RAD-AUX is a partial redundancy for the ‘Pip-Boy’ wrist computer and the main purpose of this watch, is so you can time your radiation exposure when exploring the wastelands beyond your vault. As you might expect from a watch that is limited in nature, the ANICORN x NASA – Ver. ACES Limited Edition Watch ($765) is already sold out but we’ve got our fingers crossed for another re-release of this space inspired timepiece here at Coolector HQ. This glorious collaboration that was released to celebrate NASA’s 60th anniversary is one of our favourite limited edition timepieces and it’s quality is plain to see. TAG Heuer x Hodinkee Limited Edition Skipper Watch – $5900
As with all the limited edition watch collaborations that Hodinkee engage in, the TAG Heuer x Hodinkee Limited Edition Skipper Watch ($5900) certainly didn’t hang around on the shelves for long and sold out in a matter of days. This majestic looking timepiece is based upon one of the Swiss watchmaker’s rarest models – namely, the original “Skipperera” reference 7754 – of which, less than 20 models have been found in existence today.
This reimagining of the timepiece alongside Hodinkee really bring a forgotten classic back to life and we love its bold visual impact here at Coolector HQ. The original version of the watch was commissioned by Heuer in 1967 to commemorate Emil Mosbacher’s victory on the yacht Intrepid at the America’s Cup, and is now deemed to be one of the most collectible vintage Heuers in the world.
