2020 might be in the rear view mirror (thankfully) but we’re still in the midst of winter so we’re still looking to add plenty of chunky sweaters to our winter wardrobe here at Coolector HQ. As is always the case when we’re after menswear, Huckberry is invariably our first port of call and they definitely don’t disappoint in the men’s sweater department.
Check out our pick of 5 of the best men’s sweaters for winter below:
Wellen Seawool Fisherman Sweater ($128)
Crafted with a combination of recycled plastic bottles and upcycled oyster shells, the Seawool Fisherman Sweater from Wellen ($128) is an amazing step forward for sustainable textiles. It shares many of the same characteristics that we love about merino wool – namely, soft to the touch, temperature regulating, quick drying, antimicrobial, robust – while rescuing a great deal of waste from ending up in landfills and oceans.
It’s hard not to love the serendipity of an old-school seafaring sweater that’s been the right way with upcycled oyster shells and all the cozy warmth and rugged durability we would expect built right in. ($128)
Wills Cable Knit Wool Sweater ($138)
Winter is well and truly here, and you know what that means. No, we aren’t talking about mulled wine – we’re talking layers. A classic crewneck is one of the mainstay of our winter wardrobe here at The Coolector and they just don’t come any better than this Wills Cable Knit Wool Sweater ($138). It’s reliable, stylish, and, perhaps most importantly for the current cold weather conditions, warm and cozy.
You can wear this classy chunky sweater with jeans for a casual cool fit for everyday comfort, or dress it up a touch by pulling it over a button down and pairing with chinos for a more refined look that’ll get you through even the longest holiday dinners this year. The Cable Knit Wool Sweater from Wills has that classic, chunky, fisherman’s jumper aesthetic and feel that you just can’t beat when it comes to cozy warmth. ($138)
Taylor Stitch Hardtack Sweater ($248)
This soft and warm sweater is ideally suited for layering in cool and cold weather conditions which makes it a winter wardrobe essential in our opinion. The Taylor Stitch Hardtack Sweater ($248) boasts a super soft handfeel from the jersey stitch and baby yak wool construction and the responsibly harvested yak wool is collected and cleaned when the animals naturally shed their plush undercoats in springtime.
Great to look at, the Hardtack Sweater has understated Donegal flecks which provide a great depth and texture to proceedings. Another great design feature of this adventure ready sweater is the genuine tan sheepskin at the elbow patches. ($248)
Finisterre Furlong Crew Sweater ($138)
This casual sweater that’s serious about warmth is definitely the sort of apparel that we’ll be adding to our own winter wardrobe here at Coolector HQ. Finisterre are a UK brand with adventure in their blood and that’s certainly something which shines through in this Furlong Crew Sweater ($138).
Made from a soft, premium merino wool that keeps your warm and cozy whatever the weather, the Furlong Sweater is a winter-time essential that you’ll be reaching for whenever the temperatures take a dip. Simple and stylish, it brilliantly combines a traditional fisherman’s jumper design with a modern fit that looks the part whatever your style.
Proof 72-Hour Merino Sweater ($198)
The super versatile style of the Proof 72-Hour Merino Sweater ($198) allows you to dress it formally or casually without a second thought. Each one is crafted from a recycled polyester and merino wool blend for a soft, non-irritating wear with built-in stretch that retains its shape. This sweater is printed in one piece on a Shima Seiki WholeGarment knitting machine to create a seamless design that eliminates irritation.
A comfortable, midweight waffle knit construction is ideally suited for layering when colder weather strikes and wearing with just a shirt when it’s a touch milder when spring rolls around. The articulated elbow is similar to a crotch gusset, in that it offers optimal range of motion without restricting your body’s movements. ($198)
