When it comes to watches with an astrological edge, the guys at Werenbach are tough to beat. Each one of their timepieces is made from remnants of real-life Soyuz rockets following their journey into space. Werenbach watches are not an accessory, but a real style statement: one that’s light years from the mainstream watches on the market. Anyone who wears such a timepiece on the wrist shares the Spaceborn mindset and the quality of their design, build and visuals is second to none. Check out our pick of 6 out of this world watches from Werenbach below:
B.T.O. II SUPERLATIVE | From $2257
The engine, equipped with 4.5 megatons of thrust, has caused the outer shell of the rocket to glow. Due to different fire marks, the material is different and turns the watches truly unique. B.T.O.: “Built To Order” means that this watch is made to order according to your wishes. You can choose not only the dial but also the case, the hands, the side plaque, and of course the strap.
RAW II | $1360
The dial of the RAW II watch was cut directly from the booster of the rocket (tank). The surface has been left original. It shows – typical for Werenbach – visible traces of the space mission. It is a limited series of 60 pieces dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first space flight.
PITCH BLACK | $958
A space rocket melted down into a timepiece. Black-coated, minimal, stealthy. This shows off the cast profile to maximum effect and lends the watch its eye-catching appearance. Mechanical movement Sellita SW200, ‘Swiss Made’. Diameter 41 mm, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, 10 ATM. Parts of the dial exhibit unique raised structures due to the structure and properties of the melted rocket material.
SPORT W42 | $215
Made from material from the Soyuz MS-09 rocket in which Alexander Gerst travelled to space on 6 June, 2018. The small plate in the dial originate from the external part of the booster (engine cladding). The surface is left unmodified, which means that every plate is unique thanks to different miniature structures.
RAW IV SUPERLATIVE BLACK | $2113
The material was cut straight from the tip of the rocket. It has reached an altitude of 85km. The surface of the dial was kept intact. It has small irregularities that bear witness to the rocket mission. This exclusive and unique timepiece is deliciously detailed. The back has been left open to reveal the high-end Soprod manufacture movement by Werenbach. The case is black PVD coated for a stealthy style aesthetic.
B.T.O. VI SUPERLATIVE | $2257
This material has not only reached an altitude of 85km, it comes from red SOYUZ lettering on the top of the rocket. The different cut-outs from the marking make these watches truly unique. This timepiece is the closest thing to the one and only real space watch, as its material carries the DNA of space and the rocket-like no other. The dial of this model is milled directly from the rocket and bears the original colour and surface quality (wear and tear, traces of colour).
