When you think of just how advanced the cameras are on today’s smartphones, one that offers 8-bit photography might not seem too appealing but this neglects to take into account the awesomeness that is this 8-Bit Instant Photo Gun by Moscow based media artist, Dmitry Morozov, which uses a mish mash of materials to create a cracking looking piece of kit.
The 8-Bit Instant Photo Gun by Dmitry Morozov (AKA vtol) is a mightily impressive looking construct which consists predominantly of GameBoy components and a gun mechanism that takes an 8-Bit image each time you pull the trigger – a feature that, we can all agree, is pretty cool. Check out a video and a few more images of Dmitry Morozov’s 8-Bit Instant Photo Gun in action below:

Whilst it clearly isn’t going to win any photo of the year competitions, it’s impossible not to be won over by the ingenuity and technological accomplishments of Morozov’s wonderfully wacky device. If you’re the sort who likes to see once glorious bits of gadgetry given a new lease of life, then you’ll likely join us here at Coolector HQ in being completely bowled over by the smashing little gadget that makes the most of the GameBoy’s technology and creates a genuinely unique and clever device.
