If you’re anything like us here at The Coolector, you’ll have a tipple of choice when it comes to spirits and, for us, it is undoubtedly gin. There are few things better than imbibing a delicious gin-based cocktail in the warmer months of the year so, do yourself a favour, and check out our pick of 8 gins to add to your list this summer below:
Cotswold Dry Gin
This gin features a delightful mix of nine thoughtfully selected botanicals, such as local lavender from the Cotswolds and fresh peels of pink grapefruit and lime zest. The high quantity of botanicals we incorporate causes a striking pearlescent cloud to form when ice or tonic is added.
James Gin American Mustard
From Top Gear alum, James May, these gins are right up our street. Their American Mustard gin packs a punch and it distils the flavour of the United States – burger and hot-dog mustard – and blends it with subtle gin-making botanicals to create a patriotic fervour in the back of the throat.
GINome Gin
A ceramic bottle in the shape of a Garden Gnome and displayed with a beautiful gift box in the shape of a greenhouse – what’s not to like? Crafted with flowers, a very pleasant floral gin, made with premium botanicals.
Mermaid Gin
Since 2014, Mermaid Gin has been meticulously crafted on the Isle of Wight using ten ethically sourced botanicals. This gin offers a smooth and intricate blend, featuring fresh organic lemon zest and peppery grains of paradise, complemented by a touch of sea air from the wild-foraged, aromatic rock samphire.
Portofino Dry Gin
This dry gin is crafted with a selection of botanicals that capture the essence and aromas of Portofino and embodies a coastal journey, aiming to transport their customers to that scenic locale. Portofino Dry Gin starts with vibrant notes of fresh lemon and crisp juniper, evoking the hills of Portofino.
York Gin Jorvik Spring
The botanicals selected for this gin mirror the essence of York and its surrounding Yorkshire hinterland. It features lavender and heather from the Yorkshire moors, liquorice reminiscent of Pontefract cakes, ginger typical of Yorkshire Parkin, and the Yorkshire white rose.
Shivering Mountain Early Harvest Gin
If a gin could encapsulate the taste of summer in a bottle, this would be it. Early Harvest Gin incorporates the flowers and berries found in the Peak District hills surrounding the distillery. The summer flowers contribute to a delicately crafted and beautifully smooth gin. One can detect hints of elderflower, wild bilberries, and gorse in its aroma.
Chemist American Gin
A New World Gin crafted with local botanicals from the highlands of North Carolina, this spirit is made through traditional vapour infusion. This method softens the juniper taste while accentuating the flavours of citrus, rose, and fragrant mountain botanicals.
