Watches come in all shapes, sizes and with price tags that span the gamut but if you’re after a bold timepiece that doesn’t break the bank, you’ll struggle to top this Nivada Grenchen x Worn & Wound Datomaster VK64 Watch. Priced at $450, this stunning timepiece was created as an accessible, contemporary counterpart to the Valjoux 72 Chronomaster, and to celebrate the Sii (Seiko Instruments Inc.) quartz movements.
The Nivada Grenchen x Worn & Wound Datomaster VK64 Watch ($450) boasts a a 36mm x 43.5mm x 12mm case and a dual register design with a date at six for a truly classic chronograph style that we’re big fans of here at The Coolector. It also features the racing-dial layout and dark palette from the V72 Chronomaster, and is available in two different versions.
Version A sports a fog-grey surface with black sub-dials, a black chapter ring, and a mix of khaki, and deep red. The hour and minute hands are in red, while the chronograph seconds hand and sub-dial hands are cyan. At six, the date is rendered in red on black, for a dark, stylish accent.
Ver B has the same colour scheme, but in an “inverse” layout. The dial surface is black, while the sub-dials and chapter are in cool, fog-grey. The different indexes are in khaki, deep red, a black. The hour, minute, and sub-dial hands come in a deep mustard tone, while the chronograph seconds is cyan, which is visually impactful to say the least. Both versions come on a medium brown rally strap crafted from tumbled leather with a highly striking grain.
The Nivada Grenchen x Worn & Wound Datomaster VK64 Ver A and B watches are undoubtedly amongst the most eye-catching timepieces we’ve seen in a while here at The Coolector and it’s not hard to see why they’ve been flying off the digital shelves of the Worn & Wound store.
