Farer didn’t take long to become one of our favourite watchmakers here at The Coolector and we were pretty beguiled by their timepieces from day one. Their latest release to have caught our eye is the decidedly striking Lander Sea Coast Watch in a new 36mm size. Priced at £1225, this is an automatic GMT dual time watch with date, spearmint dial and Granolo leather strap.
The Lander Sea Coast Watch from Farer (£1225) is a new take on the classic Lander aesthetic with a spearmint sunburst dial that’s even more vibrant and colourful than the original. To give the dial some added depth it boasts a triple step, alongside a subtle date window at three o’clock that’s colour-matched to the dial.
Set against the visually impactful dial are printed large lumed white Arabic numerals, alongside a 24-hour scale for use with the red GMT hand to track a second time zone. The Lander Sea Coast also offers Farer’s classic syringe handset that has been filled with Super-LumiNova, alongside a blue seconds hand with the Farer ‘A’ at its tip.
Acting as the beating heart for this 36mm GMT is the Sellita SW330-2 automatic movement which is robust and reliable. This dependable calibre beats at a smooth rate of 28,800 bph (4Hz), and consists of 25 jewels with a mighty impressive power reserve of 56 hours. This is the ‘Top Grade’ version of the SW330, so it’s been adjusted for accuracy in 5 positions, and you can see this wonderfully ornate movement ticking away through the sapphire case back.
