A few weeks back, we featured an amazing reimagining of the Gameboy if it were to be released today and the talented chap behind that creation, Florian Renner, is back again with his take on another classic piece of computing, and one we’re particular fond of here at Coolector HQ, the Commodore 64.
Those of a certain age will likely remain the joy (and trepidation of whether the cassette would load or not) of playing on a Commodore 64 computer and the clunky machine was certainly endearing from a design point of view but would definitely stand out like a sore thumb in the 21st century.
This is where Florian Renner comes in with his redesign of the 1982 classic computer to bring it well and truly into the present with a distinctly Mac-esque aesthetic that we’re loving at The Coolector. Take a look at a few more shots below:
The Commodore 64 will evoke a lot of gaming memories for a lot of men out there and will have been the first experience of home computing for many and Florian Renner has definitely done the memory of this computer justice with his awesome Commodore 64 Run concept design which makes it much more in keeping with the design of today’s computers.
Renner has certainly got a knack for breathing new life into forgotten pieces of technology and having now covered the Gameboy and the Commodore 64, we here at Coolector HQ can’t wait to see what he’s got in store next.
