Whilst we’re perhaps not talking Westworld levels of robotics quite just yet, there are certainly some steps in the right direction with regards to having a robot to call our own and one of the best we’ve encountered of late here at Coolector HQ goes by the name of Kuri Robot.
The Kuri Robot is billed as being the perfect home robot and whilst we’re not quite sure what that entails in terms of perfection, we’ve definitely been left impressed by its innovative design and eye-catching capabilities. Expertly intermingling with the likes of Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant, the Kuri Robot aims to be the ideal conduit for learning to live with robots and, from what we’ve seen so, it looks most capable of achieving this.
I, Robot
Described as a loyal home robot with a cheery personality, Kuri is just as suitable for young and old alike and can be used in a whole host of different ways to make your life that bit easier. With the ability to create connections throughout the home, making all your technology all the more intuitive and easy to use, Kuri will always be there when you need it and will be ready to follow your commands.
The creators of Kuri say that it’s the things that it won’t do, combined with the things that it will, that make it such a great robot as, for example, it won’t try to enslave humanity which, we can all agree, is a tick in the plus column. Kuri has some mighty impressive technology going on under the hood and this is where it gets all its capabilities from which include its ability to negotiate the terrain of your home, capturing photos and video and listening and responding to your voice commands.
Robot ownership is something that a lot of us will be looking to get on board with in 2017 and Kuri might just be the ideal stepping stone as we patiently wait for Westworld style cognisance to play out. Well made, innovative and delivering intuitive actions and responses, its easy to see why excitement is high around Kuri Robot and we’d definitely like to get our hands on one here at Coolector HQ.
Technological Marvel
Despite the playful nature of the design, there really is some impressive kit bubbling away under the surface with Kuri and it will not leave you wanting in the tech department. It boasts a cap touch sensor, which means it can respond to your touch, cameras located behind the eye for recording HD photo and video, gestural mechanics for realistic head and eye movements, top notch speakers for playing music, podcasts or just speaking to you and powerful processors for facial recognition and speech recognition.
For those of you dying to introduce a robot minion into your home, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for with Kuri (which is available for pre-order now) and you’ll find it both engaging and intuitive and capable of making your life that bit easier – something we can all get on board with.
