There are just some cars out there that will simply stop you in your tracks when you come across them and one of those cars could soon be yours in the form of this, frankly breathtaking, 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona “Harrah Hot Rod”, which is so-called as it was part of Casino magnate, Bill Harrah’s collection of automobiles and will soon be going up for auction at RM Auctions for anyone with deep pockets and a love of vintage Ferraris. We’re one of those two things here at Coolector HQ.
The 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona “Harrah Hot Rod” is truly a spectacular machine that was the personal automobile of Bill Harrah and has a Nevada registration “H” and, at the request of Mr Harrah himself, has been fitted with an abundance of competition-inspired upgrades that make it stand out from the crowd even more and deliver a drive that really is second to none.
Part of a Historic Collection
Whilst Bill Harrah will perhaps be best remembered for his casinos, it’s his automobile collection that truly amazes us here at The Coolector and this 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona “Harrah Hot Rod” rally is the pick of the bunch. During the course of his life, Bill Harrah owned more or less every type of Ferrari under the sun and had a real love of the car maker (for obvious reasons) but it is this jaw-dropping contraption that could soon be yours if you can stump up the requisite monies to get it in your garage.
This 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta was crafted by the factory in Rame Metallizzato, and boasts a retro styled and supremely cool beige leather interior with Nero seat inserts. On top of this, you will find U.S.-specification features such as the all important pop-up headlights, Borrani wire wheels, and Borletti air conditioning. If you love the styling of retro Ferraris, you really won’t find a better one on the market than this spectacular 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona “Harrah Hot Rod”.
After making this incredible steed his personal car, Harrah took it straight to Francisco Mir’s Service Center in Santa Monica in order to mount competition-style nine-inch rear wheels and fender flares to give it a bit more of a visual kick (as if it needed it) and, purportedly, treating the engine to a custom upgrade.
Italian Style
Whilst today’s Ferraris are spectacular in their own right, there is something about vintage machines from this Italian car manufacturer that are so much more striking and engaging to the eye and that’s particularly true of this stunning 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona “Harrah Hot Rod” about to be auctioned off by RM Auctions.
Any lover of retro style, luxury cars with a mighty interesting backstory will likely be raiding their savings accounts as we speak to see if they can afford this incredible 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona “Harrah Hot Rod” and whilst we know we certainly can’t here at Coolector HQ, we can at least revel in the glorious images that really bring the automobile to life.
