We’ve featured a lot of architecture projects from Australia of late here on the pages of The Coolector and each one seems to be more astounding than the last. The Quarry House is crafted from Bluestone and has one of the most striking exteriors that you’re likely to encounter with a bold visual impact that is impossible to ignore. Situated in Brighton, Australia, has been designed by Finnis Architects, and has a minimalist aesthetic with its understated colour palette and rectilinear that’s brought to life by the lines of the stone grid.
The Quarry House from Finnis Architects is perfectly suited to the often warm weather in Australia and has a very cooling feel throughout that will make it a comfortable place to spend time and relax. This cracking piece of design really has caught our eye at The Coolector and we’re big fans of the wonderfully considered interiors that make it such a welcoming space. It has wooden soffits which weave through the interior of the property which cover the ceilings with linear strips of wood. The warm wood used alongside the bluestone ensures a balanced use of materials.
Awesome Aussie Home
Everywhere you look with the Quarry House in Brighton, Australia, there is some exquisite design feature that makes it stand out and the muted tones work perfectly for its antipodean setting. On the ground floor you’ll find the public living spaces, such as the kitchen, dining room, and living room, which do a fantastic job of bringing the outdoors indoors and lead to the spectacular elongated swimming pool.
The Finnis Architect designed Quarry House is quite a cavernous space with a particularly impressive, double ceiling height dining room which serves as the focal point for the property. It fills the home with an abundance of natural light that makes for a warming presence in the property and the living room boasts expertly designed, floor-to-ceiling pivoting doors which will give the space a much needed indoor / outdoor feel.
Incredibly well designed both inside and out, the Quarry House from Finnis Architects uses great colours throughout the interiors which dovetail perfectly with the materials the architects have chosen for the main structure of the property. We love the understated look and feel to the home but the undoubted sense of luxury that it exudes from top to bottom – something which is testament to the design skills of the architects behind it.
Digging Deep
It is the striking stone used throughout the construction of the Quarry House in Australia that really sets it apart from the crowd. The bluestone is one of the most eye-catching materials you can imagine and though it is muted in colour it really does deliver an inviting aesthetic that is impossible to ignore.
Finnis Architects aren’t a studio that we’ve encountered previously here at Coolector HQ but if this stunning Quarry House is anything to go by then they are definitely one that are going to be on our radar for some considerable time to come. Beautifully decorated and designed with an impeccable attention to detail, there really is nothing not to like about this exceptional piece of architecture.
