As avid videogame aficionados here at Coolector HQ, who have likely played on more or less every incarnation of home computer system of the last thirty years or so, and a new series of photography from Spaniard, Javier Laspiur, has certainly caught our eye. The History of Videogame Controllers is a particularly eye-opening collection of photographs that any fan of computer games will have fallen for as it strikes a nostalgic chord and celebrates some of the controllers used for all the great home game systems that we’ve all enjoyed in our youth.
Laspiur is a photographer from Madrid who has superbly captured our imaginations with his series of video game controller photography and if you’ve ever played on a Super Nintendo, SEGA Dreamcast or Playstation, you’ll find plenty to enjoy within this collection of photography. Check out some of the best below:
As you can see, it’s been somewhat of a labour of love for Laspuir and he too clearly has a deep love of videogames that spans the decades. For anyone with even a passing interest in gaming, this collection of photography will have struck a chord and it is genuinely interesting to see how controllers have evolved over the last 30 years or so.
