With the draw for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil set to take place on Friday, Adidas have seen fit to release a promotion of the official ball that will be used at the event and it goes by the rather brilliant name of the Adidas Brazuca.
As you can see from the star-studded video above, it looks much like a football should look i.e. round and bouncy but it also has plenty of other features which will make it stand out just that little bit more and, quite likely, cause goalkeepers at next year’s tournament no end of grief. The Brazuca is so called after a poll taken in Brazil which drew over a million entrants and ended with the name that we see above.
The Brazuca is made up of six interlocking panels, boasts colourful swirls aplenty (in a nod to the Brazilian’s love of wish bracelets apparently) and has been thoroughly tested by some of the world’s football greats, most notably, the incomparable, Lionel Messi, who described it thusly:
I’ve had the opportunity to test Brazuca and it’s great.
Praise indeed. In all seriousness though, we here at The Coolector are mightily excited about the upcoming Brazil World Cup and releases like the spectacular looking Adidas Brazuca bring home the fact that it is a mere six months or so away now.
Price: £98 Approx (available for pre-order).
