We love it when our favourite cars undergo a unique transformation and none are more compelling of late than this retro-tastic Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911 SC which, quite frankly, we need in our life. Porsche and Aimé Leon Dore have just announced their second collaboration with a first look at the ALD 911SC campaign. The Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911SC will be on view to the public at the ALD flagship located at 214 Mulberry St. from May 21st-23rd.
This spectacular looking steed is kitted out in some seriously vintage vibes which make it all the more appealing in our opinion here at The Coolector. This is the second time Aimé Leon Dore has teamed up with Porsche with the first collab seeing them restore a 911 Carrera 4 (Type 964). The wagon boasted Schott sunflower leather and Loro Piana houndstooth interiors, which were the same materials deployed across Dore’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection, while the 911’s exterior was painted in the same shade of white of the storefront of their New York flagship property.
Vintage Vibes
The SC (Super Carrera) from Porsche was first released in 1978 and came complete with a 3.0-litre engine, a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel-injection system and a five-speed 915 transmission to make it one of the most impressive supercars on the market. This Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911 SC which so far has been showcased on both brand’s social media channels, as well as through a video on the ALD site, this caramel-hued ride has been treated to a vintage-style roof rack, beaded seat covers and plush ivory leather alongside a decidedly retro and striking floral patterned interior.
As with the previous collaboration, this one, alas, won’t be for sale either when it is unveiled in its entirety and it is merely a passion project for Santis and the Porsche design team, which showcases both their impeccable taste and flair for retro design. That isn’t to say, however, like with the previous collection, there won’t be plenty of dual-branded merch up for grabs to celebrate the release.
If you love unique pieces of automotive design and have a penchant for all things kitsch, this stunning Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911 SC will be right up your street. Whilst you’ll not be able to add it to your own classic car collection, it’s hard not to be bowled over by the brilliantly retro interiors and the immensely striking colourway of this beautiful Porsche.
