Despite the fact that we’re the first to admit that we’re not exactly car enthusiasts here at Coolector HQ and know next to nothing about mechanics but there are some steeds that we’ve got a soft spot for from an aesthetic point of view and Land Rovers can certainly count themselves within that category – particularly when they’re as out of this world awesome as the brilliant looking Avant Garde Edition Land Rover from Arkonik.
Arkonik are a UK based specialist in restoration and customisation jobs focusing more or less solely on Land Rovers and they’ve purchased and restored over 2000 in the last seven years alone. They scour Europe to find the best new or used Land Rovers which are ideally suited to their top notch customising processes and the needs of their clients’ and, truth be told, the minute we came across the Arkonik Avant Garden Edition Land Rover, we were immediately sold on their talents.
Automotive Art
Stealthy aesthetically and exceptionally well customised, the Arkonik Avant Garde Edition Land Rover is very much to our design tastes here at The Coolector and for those of you with a penchant for magnificently crafted steeds, this definitely won’t disappoint. All the work on the Land Rovers that Arkonik “rescue” as they put it are painstakingly restored in their Somerset workshop and the end result of the labours are always nothing short of exceptional.
The Avant Garde Edition Land Rover from Arkonik is built upon a a Bonatti Grey 110 station wagon fuelled by a 200TDi engine and the look and feel of the ride lends itself to those after a super cool means of getting around because it is unquestionably one of the coolest looking machines you’ll come across. On the outside, this amazing contraption has KAHN 1983 16″ alloy wheels which are wrapped in BFGoodrich AT tyres, a KBX Signature Grille, a Front Runner roof rack with rear ladder, Fire & Ice side steps, a rear LED work lamp, a NAS rear step and, last but no means least, “LAND ROVER” hood letters and a rear Solihull plaque. Understated perfection.
It’s not just on the outside that this mesmerising machine scores highly as things are just as impressive internally. The Arkonik Avant Garde Edition Land Rover is overflowing with cool features on the inside including black leather seating trim, Modular front row seats, 3x premium high back centre row seats, 4x tip-up load area seats, an Elite Loc-Box, a stylish, leather steering wheel, black suede headlining and side panels, a top of the range leather stitched gear gaiter with brushed aluminium alloy gear knobs, leather door cards and a deluxe custom sound system. Needless to say, you’ll not want to get out.
Cracking Customisation
The quality of the repair and customisation jobs carried out in the workshop of Arkonik is second to none and each time they create a new machine it must pass smoke tests for weatherproofing, VOSA MOT certification, and an independent roadworthiness examination before being imparted to the lucky recipient. The calibre of these machines is unparalleled and the Avant Garde Edition certainly looks like being one of their best steeds to date.
Arkonik are masters of their trade and this is admirably illustrated by the spectacular Avant Garde Edition Land Rover. Stealthy in design and impeccably crafted, this extraordinary vehicle might not be cheap (around £100k) but it is one of the most luxuriously appointed cars out there and as cool as they come.
