We’re big fans of pong (both beer and ping) here at Coolector HQ and we were delighted to hear that the Art of Ping Project was happening again this year (after we covered the event last year) and, we’re glad to report, the results are equally as pleasing.
The Art of Ping Pong permits some of the UK’s top illustrators and artists to have free creative reign over a ping pong paddle and the end results are suitably madcap and visually engaging. A total of twenty one designers, illustrators and artists – including the likes of Al Murphy, Harry Tennant and Crispin Finn – have lent their creative talents to the project and whether you’re a fan of table tennis or not, you’re sure to be won over by the visual merits of the project.
Each of the paddles will be available to purchase in an online auction to raise money for Children In Need and will be exhibited at Beach London for those who want to see the out and out awesomeness of the paddles in the flesh. We’re all for the charitable endeavour of this project at Coolector HQ and wish The Art Of Ping Pong luck in beating the amount they raised during last year’s event.
