A cabin in the woods or mountains as the dream for a lot of people who want somewhere to relax and escape it all with a touch of tranquility and, it’s fair to say, you’ll be hard pushed to find a more expertly conceived and crafted offering than the Big Pine Mountain Cabin from Seattle based architects, Prentiss + Balance + Wickline, who have delivered a finished property that is eye-catching in the extreme.
The approach of Prentiss + Balance + Wickline Architects is to design with the belief that nothing is impossible, and balance it with good old-fashioned pragmatism which embraces both grandiose ideas and intricate details and this is something which shines through in their effortlessly cool Big Pine Mountain Cabin Design. Situated on a slope plot in Methow Valley in Washington, this first class piece of architecture is definitely right up our street here at Coolector HQ.
Cracking Cabin
There is something about wood cabins that really appeals to our design sensibilities here at The Coolector and when the finish is as glossy and stylish as what is on offer with the Big Pine Mountain Cabin, it’s hard not to be impressed. This fantastic piece of architecture from Prentiss + Balance + Wickline Architects is nestled neatly between a forest of ponderosa trees and a meadow that boasts unobstructed views of the valley and the North Cascades mountains beyond – so, the views are entirely unparalleled. The property has been thoughtfully designed to make sure the surrounding trees are preserved and the views are as magnificent as can be.
Making the most of the views, the interior of the Big Pine Mountain Cabin is a sight to behold as well and delivers a comfortable and understated aesthetic which is perfectly suited to its location in the great outdoors. This exemplary property has been designed with a contemporary aesthetic but aims to retain the distinctly, rustic, cabin feel. It has two stone chimneys which seamlessly integrate old school cabin style with modern visuals and offer a much needed winter heat source alongside the heated floors throughout the property.
With a great deal of attention paid to the outdoor spaces as well, the Big Pine Mountain Cabin certainly makes the most of its glorious setting. It has two patios, one on each side of the property, and these extend off from the open living space and deliver different views and uses. In addition, you’ll also find an outdoor barbecue and fireplace located just off the kitchen and this ensures there is always a place to dine in warmer summer months.
Valley Vistas
The only thing better than the fantastic design that has gone into the Big Pine Mountain Cabin is the extraordinary views that it delivers from almost every angle. For those who love the idea of a wilderness retreat with spectacular views, the talented architects at Prentiss + Balance + Wickline have definitely delivered that with aplomb with this exceptionally well planned out piece of design.
First rate on both the inside and out, the Big Pine Mountain Cabin is one of those designs that immediately draws you in with the welcoming wood finishes and brilliant attention to little design details. We’d love the opportunity to live in a wilderness retreat one day here at The Coolector and this striking residence is exactly the sort of design that we’d be delighted with.
