When one thinks of Swiss timepieces, Breitling are, without doubt, one of the first watchmakers that come to mind and whilst we’re huge fans of their timepieces here at Coolector HQ, it’s their collaborations that often get us the most excited. This is particularly true now that they’ve joined forces with another favourite brand of ours, Deus Ex Machina, for this stunning Top Time Chronograph Watch.
This limited edition Breitling x Deus Ex Machina Top Time Chronograph Watch has a price tag of £4100 and has been co-designed with Australian lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina. With a huge reputation around the world, this custom motorcycle and surf outfitter are a great partner for Breitling in delivering a luxury watch overflowing with effortless cool. The Top Time Deus Watch is a nod to Breitling’s original 1960s timepiece and a true tribute to the nomad spirit.
Top Class Collaboration
Originally launched in the 1960s, the Top Time watch had a clear objective: namely, to suit the requirements of “the young and active professionals” with a range of “ultra-modern chronographs”. The sports watch appealed not just to that specific demographic, but also to those attracted by its bold lines and we’re inclined to feel the same here at The Coolector.
The Breitling x Deus Ex Machina Top Time Chronograph Watch (£4100) will resonate with bikers, boarders and backpackers, all looking for the freedom to adventure around the world their own way, at their own speed. This classy looking timepiece from Breitling boasts a 41-millimetre stainless-steel case matched to a brown racing-themed calfskin leather strap.
One of Breitling’s more visually vibrant offerings, the Top Time Deus Watch has yellow and orange details, a lightning-bolt-shaped chronograph hand on top of squircle-shaped chronograph counters, Deus’ adage “In benzin veritas” and a retro-looking motorcyclist in rally racer mode – by Deus creative director Carby Tuckwell – can be found engraved on the case back of this majestic looking timepiece.
Join the Deus Squad
The Top Time DEUS Watch from Breitling perfectly embodies the philosophy of the DEUS SQUAD: Californian Forrest Minchinton, who’s has a love of surfing as well as riding motorcylces; Sierra Lerback who is a Hawaiian competitive surfer; and French motorcycle engineer and designer Jeremy Tagand.
All three have been with Deus Ex Machina for years now and are part of its no-nonsense and fearless DNA. The Top Time DEUS recalls an era before the various pursuits of fun – motorcycling, surfing, skateboarding, whatever – were marketed into fundamentalist factions. If you live a life full of adventure, the Breitling x Deus Ex Machina Top Time Chronograph is the watch for you.
