British watchmakers, Bremont, are responsible for some of our favourite aviation-style watches here at Coolector HQ and you can definitely add another feather to their cap with this brilliant MB Savanna timepiece. Another eye-catching addition to Bremont’s lineup, the MB Savanna Watch is the latest highly engineered creation that the watchmaker has come up with in association with Martin-Baker. For more than 70 years, the British engineering company has been devising pilot safety systems, and today it delivers more than 70 per cent of the world’s air forces with ejector seats. Its systems have saved more than 7,000 lives and this excellent timepiece is a fantastic tribute to their sterling work.
The Bremont MB Savanna Watch has a price tag of £4595 which is obviously a pretty hefty investment but, as is always the case with Bremont, the quality really does speak for itself and will be a standout addition to any horology aficionado’s collection. The close relationship between Bremont and Martin-Bake started when they approached Bremont in 2007/08 and asked them to come up with the ultimate aviation watch. But they didn’t simply want Bremont to stamp their logo on the dial, they wanted a watch that could withstand the extreme forces pilots endure when they activate an ejector seat. This latest release in this collection takes things to a whole new level and has an awesome aesthetic that we’re big fans of at The Coolector.
Desert Inspired Design
Adventure-ready in the extreme, the Bremont MB Savanna Watch has a desert colour inspired dial with a 43mm Grade 5 Titanium case alongside a protective, tactical coating, and a sand-coloured metal dial and rubber bracelet. It has twin knurled crowns for setting the time and the inner rotating bezel, a movement mount that is purpose-built to protect the movement from extreme shocks, and is powered by the modified calibre BE-36AE automatic chronometer for the ultimate in accuracy and powerful performance.
The Bremont MB Savanna Watch (£4595) is a thoroughly impressive performer and this impeccable performance is driven by the high quality movement that beats within. It uses a modified calibre 11 1/2”’ BE-36AE automatic chronometer, 26 jewels, Glucydur balance, Anachron balance spring, 28,800 bph (4Hz) that boasts an impressive 38-hour power reserve. It offers an enhanced shock resistance courtesy of a modified automatic winding bridge and a Bremont skeletonised rotor with stepped windows and branding.
Another stand out design feature of the MB Savanna Watch is the iconic Trip-Tick 3-piece case in Grade 5 Titanium, matt finished in a protective, tactical coating, which has been designed to offer robustness and distinctive aesthetics from a scratch-resistant barrel. It uses Roto-Click® technology that allows the bi-directional bezel to rotate whilst gliding on a series of four ball bearings, which ensures unparalleled accuracy, durability and a satisfying click for every minute rotated. After a high-quality timepiece for your wrist? You’ve just found it.
