It’s always exciting to see collaborations in the world of horology and it’s noticeable of late that more and more watchmakers are joining forces with online magazines to create new timepieces that are sure to resonate. As one of the biggest sources of watch news out there, it stands to reason that Worn & Wound are an attractive proposition to watchmakers and when the end result is as awesome looking as these Brew x Worn & Wound HP-1 Limited Edition Watches, we’re certainly not complaining here at Coolector HQ.
This joining of forces between leading online watch publication, Worn & Wound, and Brew Watch Co, alongside their founder and designer, Jonathan Ferrer, to create this spectacular timepiece is something that we can thoroughly get on board with here at The Coolector. The eye-catching Brew x Worn & Wound HP-1 Watches came to fruition when Ferrer put one of Worn & Wound’s excellent straps on one of their existing timepieces and the rest, as they say, is history.
Time for a Brew
Whilst Brew Watch Co aren’t a watchmaker that we were immediately familiar with here at The Coolector, it’s safe to say we’re impressed with their watches and they’ve really pushed the boat in with this collaboration with Worn & Wound. The fantastic looking Brew x Worn & Wound HP-1 Limited Edition Watches are immediately striking to the eye courtesy of the stylish concentric circle texture to the dial, which radiates out from the centre of the dial.
Contrary to typical graining methods, the lines are wide and deep, and this has the effect of giving the dial a cool, industrial feel which is an understated but knowing nod to Brew Watch Co’s conceptual source material for their watches – namely, coffee making equipment. The Brew x Worn & Wound HP-1 Limited Edition Watches boasts a 38mm rounded square dial with a thick bezel, circular dial aperture, short lugs and large domed crystal face – all of which delivers an aesthetic quite unlike any watch we’ve encountered before here at The Coolector.
With a fun, mid-century-esque feel to it to the aesthetic, you’re sure to appreciate the design if you’re a fan of retro style designs.. The Brew x Worn & Wound HP-1 Limited Watch is powered by a Seiko NH35A movement which ensures its reliability. It is available in two iterations: Steel with a Rye High Craft – Vintage strap, and PVD with a Black High Craft – Vintage strap so, regardless of your style leanings, you’re sure to find one that suits.
Hot Designs
As big fans of coffee here at The Coolector, any watch that takes inspiration from it is going to be alright by us but the aesthetics and quality craftsmanship of the Brew Watch Co’s collaboration with Worn & Wound takes things to a whole new level. This superb looking timepiece is limited to just 25 pieces so if you’re a fan of coffee or small batch production watches, time really is of the essence if you want to get your hands on one.
Worn & Wound know what they like when it comes to watches and, similarly, Brew Watch Co were mightily enamoured with their watch straps so this is a real perfect combination of aesthetic awesomeness and first class watchmaking. For those who love limited edition watches, this is definitely one of our favourites of 2017 here at Coolector HQ.
