Circula, the German watchmakers, are a relatively new brand on our radar here at The Coolector but we’re not quite sure how they managed to stay off it for so long when they release watches of the quality of the AquaSport II Dive Watch. Another feather in the cap of Circula, this impressive looking timepiece is just about as adventure-ready as watches get and the sporty aesthetic and no-nonsense performance will make it the ideal addition to any action packed lifestyle.
The Circula AquaSport II Dive Watch is pleasingly affordable given who accomplished its crafting is and the quality of the materials used and prices start at just $599 for this majestic looking timepiece. It offers a whole host of new features over the original AquaSport and this time also comes in a limited edition Meteorite iteration (from $899) so if you’re looking for the next addition to your horological squad, you might just have found the ideal candidate in the shape of the AquaSport II Dive Watch from Circula.
SUBTLE ENHANCEMENTS
More evolution than revolution, the AquaSport II builds on the success of the original release from Circula and improves it in a number of key areas. One of the first things you’ll notice visually is that the bezel and dial opening are extended by 1mm to 40mm and 31.5mm, while the length remains the same. In addition to aesthetic adjustments in terms of colours and luminous material, the design of the rotating bezel has also been improved. And the real stand out for us at Coolector HQ, is the limited edition of 99 pieces that boast a meteorite dial that delivers a visual impact beyond compare. The dial is made entirely from genuine metal meteorite from space which gives each dial an individual crystal structure.
The Circula AquaSport II (from $599) has the same 200m water resistance as the original offering which makes it more than a match for any underwater adventures you’ve got planned and it won’t let you down on land either. In the AquaSportII, the high-quality mechanical movements with automatic winding from Sellita Switzerland are used, optionally in the highest quality level ‘Top’ with an extra hard Glucydur balance for particularly high accuracy day in, day out. The Sellita SW200-1 is a modern high-beat movement with 28,800 vibrations, 26 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve which makes the affordable price tag of these watches all the more extraordinary.
The AquaSport II effortlessly combines the design of the 1970s skin-divers with new colours that pack a punch. The dials are available in three different versions so you can choose the one that best fits in with your style. As a special extra, the bezel insert is made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and the night readability is guaranteed by high quality Swiss Super-LumiNova®C3 X1 and BGW9. The bracelets for the AquaSport II are also true to style: the watch comes either on a solid stainless-steel bracelet in a beads-of-rice design, or on a tropical rubber strap, which were popular on the icons of the 1970s. A fantastic looking timepiece for an unbelievable price.
