Of all the vehicles out there, only a select few are built for real adventure and off-roading and none better than the Land Rover Defender. That’s why we love discovering workshops that craft amazing builds using the Defender as their muse and one of the best we’ve seen to date is this extraordinary Lilac Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon from US workshop, Classic Overland.
Classic Overland go to great lengths to find a superior quality, vintage Land Rover Defender 110 before they begin any restoration so the end result is better than “like new”. Once they find one, they remove all of the nuts and bolts and do a full mechanical work-over to create a new beast entirely. Their latest build, this exceptional looking Lilac Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon, is an unparalleled feat of design and engineering and has left us mighty impressed here at Coolector HQ.
Impeccable Craftsmanship & Design
The first thing that you notice about the Classic Overland Lilac Land Rover Defender is the muted but attractive 50th Anniversary Grasmere Green paint job which gives this stunning steed a real heritage look and feel. This Defender is named after a bird called the Lilac Breasted Roller which is a heavy billed, vibrantly coloured bird with a green head, lilac throat and breast, a blue belly and even brighter blue wing feathers which are found throughout Southern Africa and, safe to say, this vehicle from Classic Overland does them proud.
With a price tag of $95,000, the Classic Overland Lilac Land Rover Defender doesn’t come cheap but you’re getting an awful lot of fine features and a real attention to detail in the build for your buck and this will be one of the most adventure ready vehicles that you’ll ever own. This glorious looking steed is a timeless classic that will never go out of fashion and it is driven by a repowered V8 engine with fuel injection which is combined with the breathtaking tan interior and unique Springbok console.
Boasting a 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol Lilac Land Rover Defender from Classic Overland has adventure in its blood and would be equally as at home on the plains of Africa as it would be on the highways. On the outside, there are plenty of eye-catching features which help to set it apart from the competition which includes halogen headlights, Maxxis tyres, TerraFirma Honeycomb bezel and silver KBX air intakes. It’s a great looking machine and it’s clear that Classic Overland have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into its creation.
Superior Interior
It’s not just on the outside that the Classic Overland Lilac Defender scores style points – it’s just as impressive on the inside. As you would expect from a vehicle that costs just shy of $100k, no expense has been spare with the interiors and some of the stand out elements include seats crafted from African leather, a stunning centre console with custom Springbok Hide Cubby w/Dual Cup Holders and Dual USB ports and 12” LCD w/ GPS SAT NAV and Reverse Camera and JLB speakers.
If you’re after a new adventure machine that’s dripping in old school cool in 2020, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better candidate for the job than the Classic Overland Lilac Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon. Expertly rebuilt by this leading American workshop, there is an amazing attention to detail everywhere you look and this is one of our favourite Defender builds to date here at Coolector HQ and, at $95k, it represents great value for money.
