Clipped Wings Playing Cards

We featured a set of playing cards by Emmanuel Jose a few months back and, resultantly, we were delighted to hear he’s got another set in the works here at Coolector HQ and his next set of playing cards go by the name of Clipped Wings and they are currently seeking funding on Kickstarter. The video above does a pretty spiffing job of showcasing Jose’s design process and the amount of work that goes into his playing cards.

Clipped Wings Playing Cards are a celebration of the artist’s love of birds and the set features 55 individually cut and illustrated cards which have definitely left us impressed here at The Coolector. The deck is printed by the US Playing Card Company with poker sized dimensions i.e. 2.5 x 3.5 inches and the fantastic looking set is expertly accompanied with all manner of eye-catching extras which includes a book exploring the creation of the cards, art prints and uncut sheets of playing cards that, frankly, look awesome. If you’re a fan of playing cards as we are at Coolector HQ and love the artistry that can go into their creation then sets like the Clipped Wings from Emmanuel Jose will definitely impress. It’s interesting to see the process that Jose has in the creation of his great playing cards and they’re already proving immensely popular on Kickstarter but you’ve still plenty of time to get your hands on a set.
