Cloud

Every once in a while, you’ll come across something that will make you stop what you’re doing and investigate further and that’s exactly what happened to us here at Coolector HQ when we came across Richard Clarkson’s Cloud installation which is not some some theoretical storage area for your photos but, well, a cloud that you can put in your home and become, errrm, a person with a cloud in their front room.

From a visual perspective Cloud is simply beyond compare but it is so much more than something that is pretty to look at. Clarkson is clearly a multi-talented chap as his Cloud is, in fact, an interactive lamp and speaker system so, once you’ve managed to stop staring agog at it, you’ll be able to listen to the impressive device too. The design of Clarkson’s piece is to replicate a thundercloud and, as you can see from the shot above, this is something he’s accomplished extremely well.

Cloud has motion sensors inside it which detect the user’s presence and will create a lighting and thunder show based upon their movements and we here at The Coolector are craving Cloud as a focal point for our HQ pretty bad because of this rather awesome feature. You can stream music to your Cloud via any Bluetooth compatible device and it will react with a colour display based on the tunes that you play. As you can see, it will make a decidedly striking addition to any home and the photos below will add to your desire for wanting one in your home or office considerably:

We’ve been entirely mesmerised by this technological piece of art here at Coolector HQ and for anyone on the lookout for a piece of statement furniture that will genuinely turn heads then Cloud is the thing for you. It’s not cheap but it is awesome so if you’ve got deep pockets and you’ve been looking for something to splash the cash on this summer, Cloud might just be the prime candidate.
