We’re very much into our retro aesthetics when it comes to watches at the moment here at Coolector HQ and there are few forms of timepiece more suited to a vintage design than those inspired by the automotive industry. During our daily trawling of Kickstarter for brilliant new watches to enjoy, we’ve come across a belter in the form of the Cursus Victus CMXI Watch.
This impeccable looking timepiece from Norwegian (yep, Norwegian) watchmakers Cursus Victus has got all the cool, classic features that you’d come to expect from a watch celebrating 70’s sports cars tachometers and for those motoring enthusiasts amongst you, you’re not going to find many more stylish watches than this on Kickstarter right now.
Need for Speed
Designed in Norway, the Cursus Victus CMXI Watch is an innovative chronograph timepiece that is a clear nod to the iconic sports cars of the 1970’s that we all know and love. Boasting a classic stainless steel finish alongside an equally as impressive matte black case, not to mention the mighty impressive dial arrangement which delivers a bold statement on your wrist.
The first thing that immediately jumps out at you about the design of this first rate watch is that it only has a single main hand on the face and this reflects the design of a classical rev counter or speedometer, with a matching red-line at 12 o´clock. We’re big fans of the design of this auto-inspired timepiece here at The Coolector and not surprised to see it doing so well on Kickstarter.
Impressive Features
It’s not just in the visual department that the Cursus Victus CMXI Watch excels, it’s also got the features and specifications to back it up. This magnificent timepiece offers 364L stainless steel, sandblasted with black PVD plating, Citizen Miyota 6SA2 movement, 3ATM water resistance and a screw-in case back with Stainless Steel lugs.
It’s a surprise to see such a superb looking watch emerging from a small town just outside the Norwegian capital of Oslo but if the CMXI Watch is anything to go by, we should be paying more attention to timepieces form our Nordic counterparts. If you’ve liked what you’ve seen, there is still plenty of time to get behind the project on Kickstarter and pick up one for a great price with limited edition features.
