Another day, another awesome timepiece collaboration from the guys at Worn & Wound. This time they’ve joined forces with the guys at Depancel to release the Allure Valjoux 92 Watch. This classy-looking accessory is right up our aesthetic avenue here at Coolector HQ and for any man seeking an exclusive and luxurious watch for their wrist this summer, this one will sure take some beating.
The Depancel X Worn & Wound Allure Valjoux 92 Watch is priced at $3171 and limited to just 20 pieces so you’ll definitely need to move fast if you want to add this majestic timepiece to your lineup. The Depancel X Worn & Wound Allure Valjoux 92 takes its cues from Depancel’s Allure collection, blending luxury with sportiness in its design. This watch boasts a finely crafted dial and a 39mm x 45.8mm steel case that features both brushed and polished surfaces, straddling the line between vintage charm and contemporary style.
Uniquely, unlike traditional chronographs, this model innovatively includes a pulsometer scale at the centre of the dial, which is read through the back of the chrono-seconds hand. Breaking away from traditional designs, this collaboration eliminates the running seconds sub-dial and hand, resulting in a single-eye chrono layout. The selection of mint green for the primary dial colour draws inspiration from classic American automobiles. Finished in a glossy lacquer that stands out against the brushed, dark metallic surfaces, the mint green adds a relaxed, stylish flair to the watch.
The watch is driven by restored vintage Valjoux 92 movements, which date back to the 1950s and 60s. The Valjoux 92 was ahead of its time, introducing an oscillating pinion that offered a more straightforward and efficient coupling mechanism for the chronograph functions. Despite this innovation, it maintains a traditional column wheel for actuation. The movement features 17 jewels, operates at an 18,000 bph beat rate, and provides a 39-hour power reserve.
For this top-class collaboration, Depancel’s watchmakers carefully restored and modified the movements, visible through a display case back, a feature not found on vintage Valjoux 92 watches so these ones from Worn & Wound are even more unique and, with just 20 being made, will be incredibly sought after.
