As is likely abundantly clear, Farer are a watchmaker that we’ve got a lot of time for here at The Coolector so we were delighted to see them enter the sports watch arena with their latest collection of timepieces – the AquaMatic series. One of the stand out offerings from this brand new range from the British watchmaker is the Cribbar Sports Watch which is visually vibrant and adventure ready in the extreme so if you find yourself in need of a new, no-nonsense sports watch for under £1k, look no further.
The Farer AquaMatic Cribbar Sports Watch is priced at a mighty reasonable £895 and it comes with a day/date function and unidirectional bezel + quick release rubber strap, NATO strap and integrated steel bracelet all included. This one stands out as the the AquaMatic Collection’s secret superhero, with a blaze of anodised red aluminium inset into the strengthened Swiss-made steel bezel ring, that serves to protect the deep gloss black dial within. The dial is framed by a striking minute marker ring in sky blue, while the rehaut brings an inner blast of light to the dial by deploying a fine mirror edge.
BOLD, BRITISH WATCHMAKING
Boasting a set of oversized arrow minute, pointed hour hands in thick outline the Cribbar will give clear readings on quick view, against the large dot and dash hour markings. All flooded in the highest level of Super-LumiNova for clarity night and day to make sure you can tell time in low light conditions. And when it comes to the day – there’s no wondering if it’s time for a weekend getaway with the use of full day/date capability shown at the 3 o’ clock window in both classic English and French days.
The Farer AquaMatic Cribbar Sports Watch (£895) has been purpose built for a life aquatic. It is hewn from a solid block of marine grade 316L Stainless Steel and this specialist industry grade metal enhances the built-in benefits of regular stainless steel by increasing levels of chromium and molybdenum to provide a toughened steel with unparalleled corrosive resistance. The polished case back is decorated in an engraved Farer arrow marque and wave detail, that helps keep the Swiss-made Sellita SW220-1 movement protected and Incabloc Novodiac shock-absorber held within – reaching 41 hours power reserve when fully wound.
Stowed away in the Farer travel case are the three sports straps included: a rubber strap with steel buckle, a waterproof NATO strap and an integrated Jubilee 316 marine grade steel bracelet with flush butterfly clasp – so you will have plenty of opportunities to change up the aesthetic of this Cribbar Sports Watch from the guys at Farer. All with easy, quick release fitting systems built in – allowing you to change the look of your watch in a matter of seconds. What’s not to like?
