The quality of the watches from British watchmaker, Farer, means they are never far from our thoughts here at The Coolector and we will always be waiting for new releases with bated breath. Well, the latest is one of the best they’ve done in a while now and it boasts plenty of stand out features which help to set it apart from the competition – say hello to the Farer Maze GMT Bezel Watch.
Priced at £1250, you’re getting an awful lot of bang for your buck with the Farer Maze GMT Bezel Watch. This striking timepiece from the increasingly impressive British watchmaker is a GMT Bezel dual time + date automatic watch with pure white ‘swimming pool tile’ dial and Maine St. Venere leather strap that adds a devilish dapperness to proceedings.
Contemporary Cool
Designed to show the time in two different time zones at the same time with the aid of the fourth GM-Time hour hand and quick set 24-hour bi-directional bezel, the Maze from Farer is one impressive timepiece. Made for contemporary adventurers, the Maze GMT Bezel watch is a modern reimagining of a classic form – with its dial combining striking shapes and an angular aesthetic to create a distinctive look.
The unique pure white ‘swimming pool tile’ dial of the Farer Maze GMT Watch (£1250) with raised highly polished markers in circular and rectangular shapes are cleverly designed for unbeatable readability with the Farer arrow emblem clearly marking the 12 position on the dial. The external bi-directional, two-colour GMT bezel provides a reassuringly solid reaction to being adjusted with the 24 click rotation ratchet system. The bezel thickness especially has been expertly balanced so as not to overwhelm the timepiece when on wrist, making it easier to read while bringing an air of sophistication to the aesthetic.
This eye-catching timepiece is crafted from marine-grade 316L stainless steel, circular brushed top with precision ‘light catcher’ highly polished bevel edges, horizontal-brushed sides, set against a polished back. This creates a visually light effect to a durable, no-nonsense case. Individually numbered and measuring a comfortable 40.5mm diameter on the wrist, 44mm lug-to-lug and a slim 11.75mm in height. The case is framed by the external 24 click rotation bi-directional GMT bezel for quick time-zone setting in seconds.
Built For Exploration
The ‘local’ hour/minute hands work on 12-hour time, while the ‘dual time’ GMT hand is independently adjustable to set to any 24-hour time zone and read against the bezel. The outer hour bezel can also be used to keep track of a third time zone. Turn the bezel until the new time zone is aligned with the GMT hand and to revert to the second time zone turn the bezel until ‘24’ is aligned with the Farer arrow. The date change is linked to the traditional hour hand (local time).
Priced at £1250, the Farer Maze GMT Watch has definitely got the potential to be one of the best value watches in your luxury timepiece collection. This classy number from one of our favourite watchmakers here at Coolector HQ has a water resistance of 20ATM and you’ll be surprised at just how rough and ready this adventure inclined timepiece really is. Another fantastic addition to Farer’s line up of GMT watches.
