Having recently decamped from London to Liverpool here at Coolector HQ, we’ve wasted no time in finding events that are to our libation liking and the first one that we’ve stumbled across is the excellent Gin Festival held in Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral (or at least its crypt) and chock full of amazing gins from the world over. A real dream ticket for any gin enthusiast, this first class event is an essential date in the calendar if you’ve got a penchant for the spirit and there is a great atmosphere at this event in our new backyard, Liverpool.
With in excess of 100 gins to choose from at the Gin Festival with some extraordinary flavours that you’d probably not even have comprehended for a spirit previously, you’re never going to be short of a beverage to try at this superb event. The Gin Festival also boasts a gin masterclasses that delves into the ins and outs of distilling gin and you also have the opportunity to meet the various different gin distillers in person to speak to them about their experiences in crafting this delicious drink.
Begin in Gin
It is likely quite clear that our main proclivity when it comes to alcohol here at Coolector HQ is that of craft beer but we’re certainly willing to branch out on this and we’ve certainly got a soft spot for gin after tasting some belters at the Gin Festival in Liverpool. It’s a great event for those new to gin and the season gin hound alike because there is something for everyone regardless of the sort of drink you usually lean towards – you’re sure to find something that tantalises the taste buds here.
With more events on the Gin Festival calendar following its conclusion in Liverpool (they’ll be heading to Portsmouth and Lincoln next, there’s still time to get to grips with some delicious gins this year and with so many brands to choose from, hailing from all over the world, it can be difficult to know where to begin – fortunately, you get a cheat sheet booklet upon arrival outlining the various origins and merits of the different gins on show.
Gin is increasingly becoming a tipple of choice for many and it’s easy to see why after attending this top notch Gin Festival. Whilst we’re unlikely to be ever completely swayed away form our love of craft beer, gin is definitely edging its way in with our beverage sensibilities after enjoying some absolutely belters at this event – including amazing offerings from the likes of Tinker Premium Gin, Ragnorok Gin from Sweden and Addingham Sloe Gin.
Gin-Tastic
Though we know next to nothing about gin here at The Coolector, the Gin Festival is a mighty inclusive event which also provides street food options and live music so even if you’re not digging the gin (which is hard to believe) there will be other happenings to keep you entertained. A great introduction to the event scene in Liverpool, we’ve no hesitations whatsoever in recommending this cracking event to anyone with a love of gin – or even if you don’t truth be told.
Great gins, excellent live music and street food on offer to soak up the gin, there’s nothing not to like about the Gin Festival so if you find yourself craving gin over the next few months, this is the place to deal with those cravings. Definite two thumbs up from us here at Coolector HQ.
