Guardians of the Galaxy was undoubtedly one of our favourite films of 2014, not least because of a rather impressive dance off scene, so we were understandably delighted when we discovered it had undergone the 8-bit treatment from CineFix and 8 Bit Cinema and you can see the fruits of their labour in the fantastic video above.
CineFix have remastered many iconic films into retro style 8 bit video games such as Pulp Fiction, Silence of the Lambs and, weirdly, Frozen so they’re no newcomers in turning classic movies into the sort of videogames we all (well, us) remember so fondly from our youth. This fantastic 8 bit version of Guardians of the Galaxy superbly recreates the characters from the film including Star Lord, Groot, Rocket and Drax and if you enjoyed the movie as much as us at The Coolector then we dare say you’ll be equally as enamoured with the brilliant 8 bit version above.
It is the creative talents of David and Henry Dutton from 8 Bit Cinema who have brought this spiffing version to reality and the authentic sounding background music and side-scrolling action makes it synonymous with the sorts of games that were around in the late 80s and early 90s. We fondly remember this era of gaming here at Coolector HQ and when it is intermingled with popular culture that we’re so fond of today, it makes our desire to play such games even stronger.
