Howlin make timeless sweaters made from all-natural Scottish wool and this Birth of the Cool Sweater ($170) is a brilliant example of their talents. Since the early ’80s Howlin’ have been crafting top quality knitwear out of Antwerp, with a strong nod to their Irish and Scottish roots. This first class Birth of the Cool sweater is a true icon of autumn apparel – it’s a shaggy, warm, and robust offering with a boxy fit that’s just this side of relaxed. ($170)

($78)
EDC Essentials
We love refreshing our everyday carry line up here at Coolector HQ and there’s no better time to do this than fall and Huckberry have some top notch accessories including wallets, pocket knives and gloves. Check out some of the best bits below:
JAMES BRAND CHAPTER KNIFE – $275
The James Brand Chapter Knife has a D2 steel blade and so far as the design is concerned, simple is significant. The titanium frame-lock construction is the most straightforward there is, with minimal moving parts and upkeep. The stainless steel blade holds an edge, won’t ever rust and as is really simple to care for. The understated design is incredibly striking, like the subtle “Electric Moss” anodized hits on the blade and thumb stud — just to remind you that you’re carrying something special. This is a knife that will be your adventure ally for a lifetime. ($225)
HESTRA Utsjö Gloves – $140
These wonderfully elegant Nordic elk leather gloves from Hestra ($140) are lined with fleece for comfort. Hestra has been creating gloves since 1936, so they know a thing or two about making some of the best in the business. Each pair of their gloves are made in their own factories and they personally source all the materials—two factors which ensure the complete control over their production chain and guarantee quality. The Utsjo is a dress glove made from supple Nordic elk leather, insulated with Primaloft for warmth and lined with fleece for comfort and will be a cornerstone of your EDC line up. ($140)
NEZUMI STUDIOS BALEINE WATCH – $500
Boasting a striking look and feel of a vintage diver, made for everyday wear, this brilliant Nezumi Studios Baleine Watch ($500) is an essential accessory for the contemporary man. If you’re looking for something a little different than your run-of-the-mill dive watch from the big boys, Nezumi is a first class option. Their Baleine diver checks all the boxes on most men’s lists – namely, it’s got a great water resistance, it’s lightweight enough for everyday wear, has a super cool, retro aesthetic and an exemplary automatic movement – and, crucially, still manages to come in at the $500 mark, which is not always an easy feat in the watch industry. ($500)
Flannel Shirts
If we’re being honest, the flannel shirt is probably the biggest style staple in the Coolector HQ closet and we’re always looking to add new ones to our collection. Huckberry have some fine examples and you can see some of the best below:
BUFFALO JACKSON FAIRBANKS FLANNEL – $60
Durable and long-lasting, the Buffalo Jackson Fairbanks Flannel ($60) is a real favourite of ours at Coolector HQ. With an eye toward heritage goods and the way they used to be made, Buffalo Jackson’s wares are crafted to stand not just the test of time but also the rigours of any outdoor or day to day adventure. Whether it’s mowing the lawn, heading out into the wilderness or to your local taproom, you can count on Buffalo Jackson’s well-made goods to have your back. ($60)
PROOF HEATSEEKER FLANNEL – $88
This is the epitome of a classic flannel shirt, and it expertly combines technical performance with impeccable comfort. The Heatseeker Flannel from Proof ($88) is where performance meets comfort and it is crafted from a brushed thermo-regulating fabric, which does a great job of keeping your temperature in check in the same way as merino wool. While it might look like your favourite flannel, it’s softer and packs a technical punch like a mid-layer that makes it autumn adventure ready to say the least. ($88)
FLINT & TINDER CHECK BUTTON DOWN FLANNEL – $108
Designed for action and living in, the Flint & Tinder Check Button Down Flannel ($108) is an essential autumn addition to your wardrobe. Flint and Tinder’s Japanese plaid shirting wears in, not out — which means that it gets softer every time you roll up the sleeves or reach across the bar to grab your craft beer. These ace looking flannels are a throwback to casual vintage shirts the Flint and Tinder team would score every now and then at a local thrift shop and, instead of having to hunt these down, they decided to craft their own and they are comfort and old school cool personified.
