To be honest, it’s not always the mind-blowing, jaw-dropping gadgets that garner our attention here at Coolector HQ, it is often the ones that we look at and think “well, that would be bloody useful” and that’s exactly the mindset we’re currently cultivating having stumbled across a frightfully simple little device that goes by the name of the iMacompanion which, basically but brilliantly, gives you a front USB port for your iMac – avoiding the unnecessary nuisance of fiddling with the rear every time you want to charge or sync a device.

Needless to say, the design process behind Apple’s iMac computers is to make them as minimalist and clutter free as conceivably possible and the iMacompanion doesn’t compromise this most important of design elements and sits neatly within the confines of your iMac’s base. Providing an easy access USB 3.0 port on the front of an iMac is, of course, far from revolutionary from a technological standpoint but from a not tearing your hair out point of view, it’s right up there with the best of them.
