Whether you like it or not, it seems likely that the cars of the future will be all-electric but this doesn’t mean to say you can’t have a stunning-looking steed for getting from A to B – something that these awesome Electric Toyota Land Cruisers from Inverted admirably illustrate.
Leveraging the immense success of their electrified classic Range Rover series, Inverted is now expanding its prestigious portfolio of meticulously restored, electric vintage vehicles by introducing a custom 40 series (J40) Land Cruiser line. Priced at $244k, these glorious-looking machines don’t come cheap but they will unquestionably be the coolest looking electric vehicle on the road.
Dedicated to reviving the best classic vehicle designs with a contemporary twist, Inverted masterfully converts Land Cruisers into electric wonders designed for enjoyable driving experiences. Featuring seamless integration of custom 53kWh battery packs, Inverted offers extensive EV conversion services for any vintage Land Cruiser model, including the FJ40 short wheelbase, FJ43 middle wheelbase, and FJ45 long wheelbase.
Inverted’s newly engineered custom Land Cruisers are designed for convenience, enabling drivers to appreciate the classic styling of a Land Cruiser without the common drawbacks of driving a vintage truck. These include poor performance, reliability issues, and, particularly in models with soft tops, exhaust fumes entering the cabin.
Inverted thoroughly strips each vintage body and chassis down to bare metal, guaranteeing that every Land Cruiser leaving the production line is in pristine, concours condition. Through a detailed, top-down restoration process, Inverted customizes each vintage Land Cruiser to the specific tastes of every client, consulting on every detail to ensure that each vehicle is uniquely crafted inside and out.
For added convenience, Inverted equips its custom Land Cruisers with CCS rapid charging ports capable of up to 75kW, enabling a charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes and offering a maximum range of up to 150 miles. The original transmission is modified to house an electric motor, which boosts the output to 215 horsepower and over 250 lb-ft of torque. Keeping the original transmission allows the gear shift to remain operational, but with an innovative upgrade from Inverted: the FJ can now start smoothly in any gear, providing varying levels of torque thanks to the electric motor.
