Whenever we leave summer behind for another year here at The Coolector, our thoughts inevitably gravitate towards adding some new outerwear to our wardrobe rotation and we’re definitely leaning towards this awesome looking Iron & Resin Scout Jacket this year. Expertly crafted from the finest materials, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better looking or more versatile jacket for your autumn outerwear line up than this. We’re big fans of the Moto-inspired apparel from Iron & Resin and their Scout Jacket has long been a favourite of ours.
The Iron & Resin Scout Jacket has a price tag of $325 but given its tangible sense of quality from top to bottom and the fact it is the sort of apparel that will typically last a lifetime, that’s a small price to pay in our opinion. It’s perfectly okay to be tough on the outside and soft on the inside – and that’s an ethos that this ace piece of apparel from Iron & Resin definitely believes in. At least, that’s the mentality that they channeled into their three-season Scout Jacket, each of which is crafted from 12oz Halley Stevensons Waxed Cotton Canvas of Scotland so the quality on offer really is second to none.
Style & Substance
Quality is inherent in all of Iron & Resin’s apparel but it is particularly evident with their supremely stylish Scout Jacket. The quality comes from the fact it is principally made from Halley Stevensons Waxed Cotton Canvas which is one of the most adventure ready materials on the planet. They’ve been engineering waxed canvas since 1864, so it’s fair to say they’re definitely the experts in that textile field (that’s over 150 years). The 12oz waxed cotton canvas material from Halley Stevensons has been developed to withstand the harshest of weather conditions such as the rain and wind, which makes it a perfect outerwear layer for Autumn and Winter.
The Iron & Resin Scout Jacket ($325) boasts a pleasingly rugged exterior that has been purpose-built to withstand the inclement weather of a road well ridden, and the interior of this jacket, made from Iron & Resin’s very own Klamath Flannel Blanket Liner, gives it that super-soft (not to mention wonderfully warm) interior for those crisper days when the warmth of summer is a distant memory. Understated aesthetically but capable of withstanding whatever Mother Nature can throw at you, this is the jacket you’ll be reaching for all the way until next summer.
Positively filled with first class features, the Scout Jacket is going to excel whatever environments you find yourself in. Some of the stand out features of this cracking piece of apparel from Iron & Resin include a corduroy collar, front placket, and interior cuff detailing, heavy duty Talon® zippered front entry with custom I&R shank button closure, two front chest pockets with heavy duty I&R shank button closure and a small inside pocket for cell phone + other small EDC essentials.
