Every man has their own idea of what their ideal EDC line up consists of but you can rest assured that most will include a penknife and multi-tool as essential pieces of the collection. Well, if you’re looking to cut down on the bulk of your everyday carry then why not combine the two with this superb James Brand Ellis Knife & Multi-Tool which is one mighty fine bit of kit that will come in handy no matter your adventures in 2019.
The James Brand Ellis Knife & Multi-Tool has certainly captured our attention here at The Coolector with its stealthy aesthetics and unparalleled functionality. This cracking bit of gear from Coolector regulars, James Brand, is latest addition to its ever-growing line-up of contemporary, minimal everyday-carry knives and tools and, from what we’ve seen so far, it might just be one of their best and most versatile to date.
Tooling Up
For those who want up their usefulness and handiness in 2019, a piece of EDC like the James Brand Ellis Knife & Multi-Tool is definitely going to be a step in the right direction. With a pleasing price tag of just $99, it represents an affordable addition to your EDC collection and it’s clear that the James Brand wanted to make something that could serve more than one purpose – be a bit more of a multi-tool than just a knife proper.
The James Brand Ellis Knife & Multi-Tool ($99) has been designed due to the belief that there are many instances when you need functions other than what a standard knife can offer, and it is these occasions that the Ellis has been built for. James Brand wanted to keep the whole aesthetic very minimal and understated but, at the same time, ensure that it was still highly functional and built for adventure and the great outdoors.
Boasting a lock-back design that utilises a release button on the spine to unlock the blades – which is important because it means you won’t close a blade on your hand accidentally — something which can be a all-too-common occurrence with a lot of multi-tools on the market. The Ellis has a partially serrated drop-point blade with a combination bottle opener and screwdriver, the “All Things” scraper and pry, and a bail loop for attaching the knife to keys, a carabiner or a backpack.
Ergonomic Design
The James Brand Ellis Knife & Multi-Tool feels great in the hand and the handles (or scales, as they say in the knife business) are made from anodised aluminium and will be available in a variety of different colours and finishes so you can find the perfect one to fit in with your own EDC line up of accessories. It will be available in Black + Stainless, Silver + Stainless and Electric Moss + Stainless finishes, each packaged in the classic James Brand wooden box.
Priced at a thoroughly reasonable $99, we won’t be surprised at all to see the Ellis Knife & Multi-Tool from James Brand flying off the shelves and into the pockets of EDC enthusiasts the world over. Wonderfully robust and well crafted, this top notch bit of EDC has plenty of handy tools that you’re likely to need on a daily basis and has the added benefit of the sort of stealthy visual impact we’ve come to expect from this excellent accessories brand.
