Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary

When Sotheby’s hold a “sealed auction”, you know the bidding is likely to be astronomical and that’s definitely going to be the case with this Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary going under the hammer in Hong Kong this October. Sotheby’s is understandably proud to present this 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary, offered without reserve. It is a right-hand-drive car finished in Metallic Black with a striking White leather interior.

It was originally delivered to the UK and was exported to Hong Kong in 2013. The Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary is an iconic car of its era and arguably the most iconic Lamborghini ever to have rolled off the assembly line – ergo, it’s not going to come cheap and deep pockets are essential if you want to add this to your luxury car lineup. It is a must-have for any collection, and this example would be ideal for a Hong Kong resident to really make the most of.

This stunning Lamborghini was purchased by a new owner in 2013 and subsequently imported to Hong Kong, where it was registered for road use in September 2013. The car has remained in Hong Kong ever since and has been maintained by Lamborghini Hong Kong during that time. Invoices on file show that regular maintenance has been carried out, including a service and differential oil change on February 26, 2016, and the replacement of the rear axle seals and exhaust system in August of that year, at a cost of almost HKD 150,000.

The car was acquired by its most recent owner in 2020, and received a service on March 20 of that year. It was most recently inspected by Lamborghini Hong Kong in August 2023. The Countach 25th Anniversary was the last hurrah of an era of fiscal and personal excess. It was a show-stopping car that came out before automotive styling became more restrained. This particular car’s menacing Metallic Black paint scheme is a reminder that the 25th Anniversary is much more than just a car that appeared in a few movies. It is one of the most extreme supercars of its generation.
