We’re suckers for luxury cars here at The Coolector and there is something about old school style Lamborghinis that gets our attention in particular. For that reason, then, you won’t be surprised to hear we’ve had our heads well and truly turned by this, quite frankly stunning, Lamborghini Countach LP400 which is available to purchase from classic car specialists, Schaltkulisse.
This breathtaking Lamborghini Countach LP400 from Schaltkulisse is another POA offering which, let’s face it, will never be good news for your bank balance. Spectacularly cool, this old school Lamborghini was manufactured back in the mid-70s, 1974 to be precise, and it has an Argento exterior with a decadent looking Tobacco interior. Win, win.
Effortless Italian Elegance
This majestic Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio from Schaltkulisse comes with chassis number 1120030 and it was completed in the factory on October 26th, 1974 before being delivered on November 15th, 1974 via the Lamborghini dealer Lamborauto in Turin. The colour combination of Argento with leather tobacco was only delivered once with any LP400 Periscopio so you will be in the most exclusive company of all if you add this to your luxury car line up.
Of the only around 150 Periscopio built, this Lamborghini Countach LP400 from Schaltkulisse (£POA) is the 15th car that left the factory. According to Lamborghini Classic Club Germany and the Lamborghini archive, the car was in the hands of Walter Wolf at some time. Wolf is a luxurious personality in the 1970s with his own Formula 1 team and ambitions at the time to buy the Lamborghini brand and bring it to the premier class of motorsport.
After a number of years residing in North America and Canada, the car found its way back to Europe and was then sold by its owner from Austria in 2014. Intense service work has been carried out on the vehicle between 2014 and 2015 and Schaltkulisse were able to sell the vehicle into a large and important collection in 2015. After a few years in this German collection of various historically very relevant Porsches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, they are now thrilled to be able to offer this special example again in their showroom.
Extensive Restoration Work
Lamborghini legend, Valentino Balboni, was chosen to oversee the repaint and the mechanical overhaul by his team in Italy so the quality of work truly is second to none. This included a new clutch, extensive work on chassis components and classic service work, to name but a few of the restoration tasks that were undertaken.
A total of around €60,000 has been invested in the restoration of this spectacular Lamborghini in the last 12 months. The interior was deliberately left untouched, however, as it is still very well preserved with its wonderful patina and still exudes a sympathetic and authentic charm from the past 46 years that tells a tale of the road trip adventures it has been on.
