Yet again we’re using Kickstarter to deliver our regular timepiece fix and, as always, the crowd funding platform hasn’t let us down but, perhaps unusually, it’s a UK based watchmaker that has turned our head on this occasion. The company in question is Marloe and their impeccable looking The Cherwell Watch has already taken Kickstarter by storm.
The Cherwell Watch from Marloe, who operate out of Oxford in the UK, is a traditional style, hand-wound watch but one that boasts plenty of features which make it more suitable for today’s contemporary male. This striking yet understated timepiece is designed in Britain and is powered by a mechanical movement with its name coming from the River Cherwell which runs through the heart of Oxford.
Kickstarter is home to some mightily impressive watches and the number of watchmakers who have used it as a springboard for getting their wares out there is testament to its popularity and it is driven by awesome watches like The Cherwell from Marloe and for those chaps after a reasonably priced and stylish timepiece for 2016, this will fit the bill rather nicely. Check out a few more shots below:
The components of The Cherwell Watch from Marloe are decidedly impressive given the relatively low price point of the accessory and it boasts a Sea-Gull ST36 movement, a bespoke case with custom crown, sapphire crystal glass casing and hand-stitched, soft cowhide leather straps. A supremely impressive timepiece and one that definitely adds another feather to Kickstarter’s cap for shedding light on great new watchmakers.
