You know when you get a sequel to a movie that is just as entertaining as the original, it’s exciting, it’s fresh with new characters, new background and scenery. In the sneaker game you’ll find few do sequels and follow ups with more aplomb than that of New Balance.
Having recently reviewed the 247 pack which was plastered all over social media and opened to global release parties and launches its right to say that the 247 silhouette was a success. So, when we came across the equally as excellent looking collaboration of the Mita x New Balance Tokyo Rat Sneakers, it was simply too good to be ignored.
Crafty Comfort
A combination of New Balance classics inspired the 247 and with its tech/classic runner aura it’s no little wonder we are getting another dose of this wonderful addition to the New Balance family in the form of the visually superior Mita x New Balance Tokyo Rat Sneakers.
The Mita X New Balance 247 “Tokyo Rat” sneakers signals a collaboration with the Japanese based sneaker retailer and the Tokyo Rat is, so far, the star in the 247 line. Inspired by the vermin itself that roam Tokyo’s streets, the collab comes in grey mesh uppers with the lace cage panel and the heel cap aptly coming in a hairy suede rat brown that imitates the fur of the mammal and is combined with embroidered N logo.
Tokyo’s rats have such a reputation in the city that locals have nicknamed them ‘ninja’ as they come out of nowhere and everywhere and you can be sure that these 247’s will be just the same with an eager following of sneakerheads looking to snap up a pair of their own.
Devil in the Detail
The Mita x New Balance Tokyo Rat Sneakers are finished off with orange accents and sole tread with the midsole being grey and dark grey. Exclusive graphic design work on the insole is joined by dual branding to make this already sold out shoe a real fan favourite worldwide.
With New Balance opening new stores globally, it’s easy to see why this is the case when they have rare gems like this releasing and judging by the 247 line, new releases, designs and more collabs may yet be on the way and here at The Coolector we’re sure they’ll be a treat so we’ll say keep your eyes peeled.
