When it comes to design aesthetics and principles, most countries typically have their own ideas and structures and one of the most striking is invariably that of Japan who are known the world over for their sleek design work. It’s for this reason then, perhaps, that this superb piece of concept design that goes by the name of Motorbike From Great Japan is quite so visually impressive.
Though this stunning piece of design from Artem Smirnov and Vladimir Panchenko is merely a concept piece at present, there’s little escaping the unparalleled visual impact of this futuristic looking piece of design. The Motorbike From Great Japan takes its aesthetic inspiration from the unique Japanese design spirit and elements of origami and the Samurai way of life and the end result is one of the coolest looking contraptions we’ve seen in a long while here at Coolector HQ.
Way of the Samurai
The Samurai way of life is obviously deeply entrenched with Japanese culture and it served as one of the principal inspirations for the design of this spectacular concept motorbike. The two talented designers responsible for this eye catching creation knew that simplicity and sense of space are extremely commonplace in the industrial design ethos of a lot of Japanese brands. However, for some reason, these design principles are rarely utilised in the creation of Japanese cars and motorcycles – something they aimed to remedy with the Motorbike From Great Japan.
Feeling that Japanese industrial design has been heavily impacted by European influences, Artem Smirnov and Vladimir Panchenko aimed to go back to the roots of Japanese design and deliver a contraption that is in keeping with what we used to know and love from this Far East design colossus and the motorbike in question definitely does this with its highly futuristic aesthetics.
Looking like something out of Tron, this exceptional looking machine is sure to find favour amongst those motorbike enthusiasts who are waiting for a steed to be created that is thoroughly designed with the 21st century in mind and provides not only performance but the sort of futuristic aesthetics that we’ve all been waiting for. As this is just a concept design, it can only deliver on the visual front but we’d love to see it become a commercially available machine here at Coolector HQ.
Futuristic Finish
Stunning design uninhibited by real world limitations make the Motorbike From Great Japan a truly breathtaking piece of industrial design from Artem Smirnov and Vladimir Panchenko and for those with a love of Japanese design principles and modern industrial design, it’s sure to tick all of the right boxes.
Though lamentably not a machine that looks like it will be available for purchase any time soon, it is a fantastic nod to the classic industrial design principles of Japan and we can’t wait to see what else these two talented designers get up to in 2017 and beyond.
