The New York Project

New York is, without question, one of the most talked about and impressive cities in the world but such is its media saturation, it often becomes strangely ordinary and regular and it is for that reason that it is always refreshing when things like The New York Project come along and showcase once again exactly what it is that everyone loves so much about the Big Apple.

The New York Project was shot by photographer, Pavel Tenyakov, and really brings Manhattan to life in a new and engaging way. Using a mixture of techniques such as timelapse and other camera wizardy, Tenyakov has really shone a new beam of light on New York and reminded us here at Coolector HQ just why we want to get back there so much.

So many of New York’s iconic landmarks, both old and new, have been captured in this superbly presented, shot and edited video from Tenyakov and for anyone with a love of Manhattan, it is definitely worth a watch. It is strange how many of these landmarks seem strangely alien when shot in this method but it certainly brings structures to life and it almost feels as though you’re right there in the hustle and bustle of Manhattan as you watch the action unfold.

The video was shot on a myriad of gadgetry which includes Canon 70d, Canon 17-55, Tokina 11-16, Samyang 8mm cameras, LCW Neutral Density NDx500, Kenko PRO1 Circular PL and a Manfrotto tripod 190XPROB. Needless to say, this isn’t the sort of equipment that many casual photographers will have in their arsenal but there is no denying the end result is jaw-dropping and eye-opening in the extreme.
