NEZUMI Watch Collection

Scandinavia is, in our opinion here at Coolector HQ, one of the breakout performers in the world of watchmaking in the last decade or so and the number of watchmakers heralding from the region continues to impress. The latest to have caught our eye is Swedish based brand NEZUMI, who operate out of Stockholm and boast some of the most striking and stylish looking chronograph timepieces we’ve seen in a while. NEZUMI Corbeau Collection

The Corbeau is the latest addition to the NEZUMI watch Collection and, without doubt, one of our favourites here at Coolector HQ. It is a mil-spec style chronograph which takes its design cues from icons like the Swedish Air Force issue Lemania “Viggen” and German Heuer Bundeswehr ref. 1550 SG from the 1970’s to name a few.

This retro inspired timepiece boasts a unidirectional turning, 3 sub registers – 24 hours, active seconds and 60-minute counter. The centre seconds chronograph hand beats at 1/5th of a second when activated and snaps back when resetting. This is joined by a double domed genuine sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside, and a machined case back. The Corbeau collection is waterproof to 50m (5 ATM), and it comes presented on a hard-wearing nylon NATO strap that adds a pleasing vintage aesthetic to proceedings.

NEZUMI Loews Collection

If old school cool is something you look for with your timepieces, the Loews Collection from NEZUMI will be mighty tough to beat. This stylish two-register racing chronograph takes its moniker from a legendary hotel in Monaco on the Grand Prix circuit called the Loews in the 1970s near the famous hairpin turn. “I’ve always been a big fan of that era and lifestyle and especially drivers like Jackie Stewart, Ronnie Peterson and Emerson Fittipaldi among other legends,” NEZUMI founder, David Campo notes. “So I wanted a name that connected the watch to that.

It’s a classic racing chronograph, but a bit dressier than most courtesy of the tachymeter being placed on the dial instead of the bezel. It’s a watch of its own, but with a clear sense about where it’s coming from.” Sized at 40mm it’s presented on a hand-stitched vegetable-tanned leather strap which is stylish and striking and this majestic looking series of watches has VK63 mecha-quartz hybrid movement by Seiko and Super Luminova on the dial and hands which is great for low light conditions.

NEZUMI Voiture Collection

The Voiture series of timepieces was the very first watch in the NEZUMI® Collection and, understandably, has a special place in their hearts as a result. The Voiture (which is French for “car”) has overtones of classic and exotic dial Chronos such as the Universal Genève Compax and Tudor “Monte-Carlo” from the ’60s and ‘70s so, if these are the sorts of watches that you aspire to, the Voiture Collection will be right up your rue.

In addition to the tachymeter on the bezel, the watches in the Voiture Collection from NEZUMI boast contrasting 24-hour, active second and 60-minute counter sub-dials and each one comes presented on a stunning vegetable tanned leather rally strap that we’re big fans of here at The Coolector. They have a double domed genuine sapphire crystal glass with AR ( anti reflective ) coating on the inside and screw down machined case back with eye-catching NEZUMI branding. One for the automotive aficionado, there is a tangible sense of quality to this flagship collection from the Swedish watchmaker and lifestyle brand.
