When it comes to watchmakers there are, every now and then, some who dare to do things a bit differently and Ressence are definitely one that falls into that bracket and their latest offering, the Ressence Type 5 Watch, might just be the crowning glory of their achievements to date.
The Ressence Type 5 Watch is, outwardly, fairly similar to their previous offerings but it boasts a multitude of new features that well and truly set it apart. It is devised with the diving community in mind and is billed as the first mechanical watch to be perfectly readable underwater regardless of the viewing angle.
It is the dial of the Ressence Type 5 that holds its special powers as it is immersed in 37.5 ml of oil which cancels out what is known as Total Internal Reflection and makes the timepiece completely readable from any angle whilst submerged. Check out a few more shots below:
Though this type of watch might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s definitely amongst the most innovative and aesthetically superior on the market and for anyone who dives regularly, there can be few better choices of timepieces – not least as its got a temperature gauge and plenty of other cool features that match its visual appeal.
