The Shift Sneaker

When buying a pair of sneakers, there is always that risk that they won’t go with many of your clothing choices on a day to day basis but prepare to have said risk mitigated by an eye-catching concept design that goes by the name of The Shift Sneaker and which could just revolutionise the world of footwear.

The Shift Sneaker is the work of a design agency by the name of Rehab Studio and the premise behind it is providing a pair of footwear with interchangeable colour schemes which you can choose and amend at the touch of a button with your smartphone. Sound cool? Well, it patently is.

Whilst this isn’t something which is ready to go to market, it is definitely an idea that will appeal to plenty of chaps out there who demand more versatility from their footwear and we here at Coolector HQ hope that Rehab Studio can get this design off the ground. Billed as the future of smart-tech materials, this is definitely something which is quite a long way from fruition but all great ideas need to start somewhere and with any support and research, there’s no doubting that an innovation like The Shift Sneaker will be available sooner rather than later.

Using conductive and reactive textiles with adept fibers, the sneaker’s body thinks, reacts and transforms its design through these principal tech-apparel materials to create an almost endless supply of designs that you can change until you find the right one for you. Certainly a science fiction notion but one that most likely won’t be too far from being accomplished.
