One of our favourite artists here at The Coolector, Simon Stalenhag, is a mightily prolific chap and seldom does a week go by when he hasn’t committed some new awesomeness to canvas and, given we’ve not crept on his website for a month or two now, there is a veritable treasure trove of new work from the supremely talented Swede to be enjoyed.
If you’re unfamiliar with the work of Stalenhag, he typically depicts dystopian futures that are at once familiar but contain technology unrecognisable and it is the combination of the regular and the abnormal that makes his work stand out so much in our minds.
His latest series of works, however, is somewhat of a departure from what we’ve come to most associate him with but they are definitely no less striking or awesome. Check out a few of these new pieces from Stalenhag below (along with some of the new pieces that he’s more known for):
Though we love the new direction of Stalenhag’s work here at Coolector HQ, it was his dystopian futures that first drew our attention and it is these pieces with which we will always been most blown away by and that is no different on this occasion.
Jaw droppingly detailed and looking frightfully familiar yet jarringly unusual, you can’t help but be drawn into the superb artwork of this incredibly skilled artist and we can’t wait to see what Stalenhag comes up with next.
