Star Wars serves as an inspiration to designers, illustrators and artists the world over and it never ceases to amaze us here at Coolector HQ the way in which the galaxy created by George Lucas et al serves as the catalyst for creating awesome artwork and the latest series to have caught our eye is this Star Wars Rhythm Force series of prints which boast an old Japanese aesthetic that really does set them apart.
This superb series of prints are made using woodblocks and follow the ancient Japanese style of ukioy-e and supplants more traditional Japanese characters with the likes of Darth Vader and R2-D2.
We love unusual and eye-catching pieces of art like this here at The Coolector and if you’re a fan of the Star Wars franchise and you’re looking for some artwork that is a little out of the ordinary then this brilliant Rhythm Force series definitely fits the bill. These cultural mashups depict iconic scenes from the Star Wars movies in a whole new way and they are at once ancient looking with the obvious futuristic feel of Star Wars and we love the way they look. A great looking homage to the wildly popular series of movies and a very timely one with the latest offering now just a few short months away.
