It is a robust, action-ready jacket that you’ll be able to put through its paces and it will come out the other side smiling.
Military Inspired Apparel
The ALS/92 is a legendary piece of military history. It is unquestionably the most instantly recognisable garment of its kind and this tailor made liner for field jackets made it easy for soldiers to quickly adapt to inconsistent climates in war zones. While it was first issued as a companion piece, the ALS/92’s unique visual impact – with it’s classic quilted finish, distinctive patch pockets, and relaxed cardigan-style neckline – rapidly saw it emerge as a legendary piece of gear in its own right.
The Taylor Stitch x Alpha Industries ALS/92 Jacket ($138) is made from a 3-oz. 100% Recycled Nylon shell and lining and a 100% Recycled Polyester fill. Working alongside the team at Alpha Industries, Taylor Stitch have reimagined this treasured template in a brand new Raven colourway using 100% recycled and organic materials. Whether you’re pairing it with The M-51 in Navy Reverse Sateen or rocking it by itself, the ALS/92 is a rugged, responsibly-built piece of history that you will be a go-to for many years to come.
True to its military origins, utility is central to the ALS/92’s design—it’s lightweight, wind- and water-repellent, and simple to care for. While the silhouette remains largely unchanged, we upgraded the core components with an eye towards Responsibility, opting for a recycled nylon shell and lining, recycled polyester fill for insulation, organic cotton binding and facing, and recycled polyester ribbing on the cuffs. We also developed our own custom pockets—including roomier hand-warmers and a handy new chest pocket—better suited to modern civilian applications.
Versatile Performer
When the weather conditions call for it, The ALS/92 can be effortlessly buttoned into The M-51, but make no mistake, it’s more than sharp enough to stand tall on its own and that’s the sort of versatility that we typically demand from our apparel here at The Coolector. Taylor Stitch and Alpha Industries are two of our favourite brands and they’ve shown why with this cracking collaboration.
Available for the pre-funding price of just $138 right now, this cracking piece of apparel is already flying off the shelves and into the wardrobes of the adventure inclined. Great value for money coupled with an unparalleled performance make this a no-brainer for anyone after a functional, stylish jacket this fall.
