As you’re likely aware by now, we’ve got a pretty big penchant for watches here at The Coolector and we’re forever on the hunt for new watchmakers. This hunt often leads us to the shores of Scandinavia and it seldom lets us down. So it has proven once again with a new brand to emerge from Sweden goes by the name of TIDLÖS and their latest release, the Marin Watch, truly is a sight to behold and will add a touch of class and robustness to your wrist. Having its roots in Scandinavia, it was essential from the outset that the TIDLÖS watch would respect the spirit of all great Scandinavian designs, embodying the principles of simplicity, minimalism and functionality. Mission accomplished with the Marin.
With prices starting at £955, you’re getting a pretty Big Bang for your buck with these Swiss-made, Scandinavian designed timepieces from TIDLÖS. Available in a number of different materials and colour ways, including our own favourite here at The Coolector, Black Carbon Fibre, you’ll be sure to find the ideal watch for your wrist within this Swedish watchmaker’s new series of timepieces. It’s clear to see that the Marin epitomises the core attributes of Scandinavian design, where optimal functionality and no-fuss minimalism is matched by the highest standards of Swiss manufacturing. A real win, win if ever there was one.
Swedish Style Meets Swiss Craftsmanship
Everywhere you look with the Marin watch there are features that will impress horology aficionados out there. This starts with the Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré grade movement that powers the TIDLÖS Marin collection. This is a proper Swiss Made workhorse calibre known for being incredibly accurate, reliable and robust and for this collection it has been finished with a custom-developed TIDLÖS rotor with the signature cloudberry icon laser-cut out. This self-winding mechanism with ball bearing is hand wound and delivers an impressive 38 hour power reserve.
The TIDLÖS Marin collection of watches (from £955) is crafted from 316L Stainless steel which is known for being the most popular material in watchmaking. This is because it provides strength, beauty and is well-known for its high lustre after polishing and incredible corrosion resistance – which makes the Marin a most adventure-ready watch indeed. The sapphire crystal covering the dial ensures maximum protection from scratches, whilst the date and unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel track the passage of time and the Super-Luminova hands and new streamlined hour markers provide optimum legibility.
If you like your timepieces to keep pace with your action packed lifestyle, the Marin from TIDLÖS is the one for you. The durability and toughness of this watch is perfectly reflected in its perfect underwater performance, being water-resistant to 500M with a screw-down crown and a helium escape valve, therefore enabling deep-water diving. You can take your pick from arctic blue, verdant green, pristine white (with a choice of blue or black bezel), bold black or, our favourite, the black carbon dial (the latter sporting a gunmetal coated case). Thee Marin comes with either a rubber strap or stainless steel bracelet and is the perfect watch for those looking for a robust and intrepid companion for all their adventures both big and small.
